Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Accounting Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in corporate accounting, payroll, account reconciliation, and general ledger accounting. The Accounting Assistant will be responsible for assisting with various accounting tasks and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation of financial statements and reports
- Perform account reconciliations to ensure accuracy
- Assist with tax preparation and filing
- Conduct credit analysis and assist with collections
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes
- Support month-end and year-end close procedures
- Maintain the general ledger and ensure proper coding of transactions
- Collaborate with other departments to resolve accounting discrepancies
- Provide support for audits and compliance reviews
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field preferred
- Proven experience in corporate accounting or related role
- Strong financial acumen and understanding of accounting principles
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks)
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Knowledge of balance sheet reconciliation processes
- Familiarity with tax regulations and reporting requirements
- Experience with Kronos or other timekeeping systems is a plus
- Previous experience with ADP or other payroll software is preferred
