Radiologic Technologist performs radiological imaging examinations of patients using both stationary and mobile radiographic equipment. Positions patient as needed to obtain optimal images and prevent patient from being exposed to unnecessary radiation. Being a Radiologic Technologist develops exposed X-ray film, ensures proper film identification on all images, and creates x-ray CD copies. Files films, maintains medical records, and performs other related administrative duties. Additionally, Radiologic Technologist typically requires an associate degree in a related area. Requires American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification. Typically reports to a chief technologist or manager. The Radiologic Technologist works under moderate supervision. We have a new opening for an X-ray technologist. Experience and/or licensure in CT is preferred but not required. The York Hospital Imaging Team is responsible for providing X-ray services at the main hospital campus as well as our seven walk-in care facilities - York, Wells, Sanford, Kennebunk, Berwick, South Berwick, and Kittery. We provide CT services and the main hospital campus, Wells, and Sanford.
Under the direction of a board certified radiologist, the X-ray technologist will be responsible for safely operating X-ray to produce diagnostic quality images.
Primary responsibilities include:
• performing a variety of X-ray exams on patients of all ages
• detailed documentation
• consenting/screening patients for ionizing radiation and/or CT contrast
• excellent communication with patients and co-workers
• positive attitude
In order to help us continue to provide exceptional patient experiences, we are looking for a candidate with the following:
• 1 yrs X-ray experience preferred (CT experience is also preferred but not required)
• BLS Certification
• Maine RT Licensure
