Radiologic Technologist performs radiological imaging examinations of patients using both stationary and mobile radiographic equipment. Positions patient as needed to obtain optimal images and prevent patient from being exposed to unnecessary radiation. Being a Radiologic Technologist develops exposed X-ray film, ensures proper film identification on all images, and creates x-ray CD copies. Files films, maintains medical records, and performs other related administrative duties. Additionally, Radiologic Technologist typically requires an associate degree in a related area. Requires American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification. Typically reports to a chief technologist or manager. The Radiologic Technologist works under moderate supervision.     Responsibilities

    Position Summary:

     

    The Radiologic Technologist I under the general direction of a radiologist and Radiology Administration is responsible for performing a variety of radiographic fluoroscopic emergency and specialized procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision. Provides Radiology services to all ages.

    Qualifications

    Minimum:

    • Current and valid CRT Permit (California) required.
    • Current and valid Fluoroscopy Permit (California) required.
    • Current and valid American Heart Association BLS CPR certification required.
    • Current and valid American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) (R) required.
    • Understanding of sterile techniques.
    • Ability to follow protocols. Ability to develop successful relationships with patients and physicians. Can identify areas of concern and take accurate images. Ability to discern emergent situations.
    • This position requires skills in Diagnostic Radiology Surgery (c-arm) and Fluoroscopy procedures. Must meet all Radiologic Technology I competencies

    Preferred:

    • AS in Radiologic Sciences preferred. 
    • One (1) to two (2) years’ experience as a radiologic technologist preferred. 
    • ARRT credentials in any of the following (CT) (N) (T) (MR) (S) (M) (QM) (BD) (CV) (CI) (VI) (VS) (BS) preferred.
