Radiology Director directs and coordinates activities of a radiology or diagnostic imaging department in a hospital or other medical facility. Reviews work schedules and assigns duties to workers to maintain patient flow and achieve production goals. Being a Radiology Director oversees staff in operation of imaging equipment, such as x-ray machine, fluoroscope, CT scanner, or MRI equipment. Evaluates accuracy and quality of images and provides technical assistance to staff. Additionally, Radiology Director demonstrates new techniques, equipment, and procedures to staff. Implements and monitors radiation safety measures to ensure safety of patients and staff and compliance with regulatory requirements. POSITION SUMMARY
Premier Radiology is seeking a Sonographer to produce imaging using ultrasound technology to assist physicians with formulating a medical diagnosis, while complying with safety and regulatory requirements. Specifically conducts ultrasound exams and documents clinically appropriate results for interpretive physician and records. Based on current government regulations, COVID-19 vaccine may be mandated, offering medical or religious exemptions upon request. POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Provides ultrasound services in a timely and cost-effective manner
· Ensures operational excellence and quality of care in the Facility
· Demonstrates use of proper positioning to produce quality imaging
· Maintains quality of imaging services in an efficient and effective manner
· Demonstrates knowledge of all equipment to provide a safe environment for patients and staff
· Utilizes information and skills necessary to perform assigned maintenance responsibilities
· Demonstrates startup procedures, calibration of equipment, and troubleshooting
· Demonstrates knowledge of using hardcopy devices, film-processing equipment, written and/or other recorded formats, and archiving
· Demonstrates continued competence in caring for individuals based upon age-specific needs utilizing developmental perspective
· Demonstrates an understanding of each age groups cognitive, physical, motor/sensory adaptation, and specific intervention
· Appropriately modifies approach to patients based upon patient age utilizing a developmental perspective
· Provides appropriate interventions related to safety issues
· Considers cognitive states in patient education
· Demonstrates knowledge and documented competence of ultrasound exams
· Documents services provided in a thorough and effective manner
· Collects appropriate clinical history and correlates findings with procedure being performed
· Maintains daily patient logbook
· Initials and checks orders
· Maintains all documentation in accordance with diagnostic division policy and procedure manual.
· Utilizes time effectively
· Adheres to established facility/departmental safety requirements and procedures to ensure a safe working environment
· Demonstrates competent usage of proper body mechanics in all activities
· Identifies potentially unsafe situations and notifies administrator/designee
· Completes all employee/patient incident documentation in a thorough and timely manner, as required by facility policy
· Demonstrates complete understanding of established emergency procedures for department and facility
· Practices infection control and standard precautions as instructed or trained
· Performs all other duties as assigned by administrator/designee
· Promotes effective working relationships to meet the mission/goals and objectives of Premier Radiology and the clinic
· Seeks consultation/collaboration for complex issues or when unsure
DESIRED PROFESSIONAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
· Successful completion of a sonography program at an accredited school
· Current registration with the American Registry of Medical Sonography (ARDMS)
· CCI Preferred
· State licensure where required
· BCLS required
· One to three years of ultrasound experience preferred
· Utilize ultrasound equipment to produce images
· Ability to work independently
· Ability to exercise judgement and make decisions
· Excellent communication skills to communicate with patients, physicians, clients, coworkers, and management staff
· Ability to perform in a high productivity, fast-paced environment
· Ability to document accurately and concisely
· Excellent phone and computer skills
· Ability to maintain sensitive information in confidence
· HIPAA and OSHA knowledge
