Radiology Director directs and coordinates activities of a radiology or diagnostic imaging department in a hospital or other medical facility. Reviews work schedules and assigns duties to workers to maintain patient flow and achieve production goals. Being a Radiology Director oversees staff in operation of imaging equipment, such as x-ray machine, fluoroscope, CT scanner, or MRI equipment. Evaluates accuracy and quality of images and provides technical assistance to staff. Additionally, Radiology Director demonstrates new techniques, equipment, and procedures to staff. Implements and monitors radiation safety measures to ensure safety of patients and staff and compliance with regulatory requirements. Develops and implements plans, policies, and procedures regarding operations and staffing and, the purchasing of radiology supplies. May require an advanced degree. Typically reports to top management. The Radiology Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. To be a Radiology Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. JOB TITLE: Ultrasound Technologist - Flexible Hours & 10 Hour Shifts Available
GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES: Operation of sonographic equipment, perform and communicate results of diagnostic examinations using sonography.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
The job holder must demonstrate current competencies applicable to the job position. Availability for evening and Saturday shifts
EDUCATION: High school diploma; graduation from a formal sonography program.
EXPERIENCE: Minimum of one or more years’ experience and/or training
CERTIFICATIONS: Registered Diagnostic Sonographer (ARDMS) credential Sonographer required. Current BLS
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
ABILITIES:
PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS: Requires full body motion. Must be able to lift/carry/move items weighing up to 50 pounds. Requires positioning of patients. Requires 20/20 correctable vision.
ENVIRONMENTAL/WORKING CONDITIONS: Medical office, exam and treatment rooms. Exposure to radiation, needles, and communicable diseases and other conditions common to radiology setting. Work location may vary between sites.
