Radiology Director directs and coordinates activities of a radiology or diagnostic imaging department in a hospital or other medical facility. Reviews work schedules and assigns duties to workers to maintain patient flow and achieve production goals. Being a Radiology Director oversees staff in operation of imaging equipment, such as x-ray machine, fluoroscope, CT scanner, or MRI equipment. Evaluates accuracy and quality of images and provides technical assistance to staff. Additionally, Radiology Director demonstrates new techniques, equipment, and procedures to staff. Implements and monitors radiation safety measures to ensure safety of patients and staff and compliance with regulatory requirements. Develops and implements plans, policies, and procedures regarding operations and staffing and, the purchasing of radiology supplies. May require an advanced degree. Who we are: Advanced Radiology Services is one of the largest physician-owned radiology practices in the country. Our growing practice includes 214 radiologists, 38 advanced practice providers, and 180 employees providing administrative support in our wholly owned subsidiary STARS. What we do: ARS provides radiology services to more than 60 different sites across the state of Michigan. We are the exclusive provider to Covenant Hospital which is the largest, most comprehensive health care provider in the region with 643 beds. Covenant offers a broad spectrum of programs and services ranging from high-risk obstetrics, neonatal and pediatric intensive care, to acute care including a Level II Adult and Pediatric Trauma Center, cardiology, oncology, orthopedics and robotic surgery.
What we are looking for: We are seeking an Interventional Radiologist to join a team of 3 fellowship trained IR physicians in Saginaw. This is a full-time partnership track position and will cover primarily daytime shifts and participate in call coverage one week per month.
Responsibilities:
· This position is estimated to between 75% and 100% interventional radiology depending on candidate preference.
· The IR practice covers a wide spectrum of inpatient and outpatient interventional procedures, including interventional oncology, vertebral augmentation, ablations, trauma embolization, GIB embolization, venous intervention, central venous access including implanted ports, peripheral vascular disease, biopsies, etc.
· Established Interventional Oncology service line using microwave ablation, chemoembolization, and glass radioembolization practice with extensive referrals from around the region utilizing top-of-the-line Siemen's equipment in three dedicated Interventional Radiology rooms.
· Supported by two APPs who perform minor procedures, round, and see consults.
Why is our IR practice unique? ARS is a 100% physician owned and managed practice and fully committed to remaining independent. We are establishing a state wide IR service leveraging our DR (distributed radiology) platform. This allows us to interact with colleagues and provide expertise in all locations. Additionally we have an outstanding team of Advanced Practice Providers rounding and performing minor procedures at our hospitals throughout the state. We have quarterly peer review meetings to support physicians and promote continued learning. We now have an interventional radiology residency program in Grand Rapids which will allow our physicians opportunity for teaching and research if desired.
Compensation/Benefits: We offer a competitive salary/bonus and opportunities for additional shifts. Our physicians pay nothing for medical/dental/vision coverage.
