Radiology Director directs and coordinates activities of a radiology or diagnostic imaging department in a hospital or other medical facility. Reviews work schedules and assigns duties to workers to maintain patient flow and achieve production goals. Being a Radiology Director oversees staff in operation of imaging equipment, such as x-ray machine, fluoroscope, CT scanner, or MRI equipment. Evaluates accuracy and quality of images and provides technical assistance to staff. Additionally, Radiology Director demonstrates new techniques, equipment, and procedures to staff. Implements and monitors radiation safety measures to ensure safety of patients and staff and compliance with regulatory requirements. Develops and implements plans, policies, and procedures regarding operations and staffing and, the purchasing of radiology supplies. May require an advanced degree. POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Vice President& Site Administrator, establishes and maintains quality and service for patients of the Diagnostic Imaging/Cardiopulmonary/Scheduling Service departments. This includes the planning, directing, coordinating, and evaluating of the diagnostic imaging and cardiopulmonary activities consistent with organizational management practices and in compliance with established organization and department policies, procedures, standards, and regulations. Responsibilities include Diagnostic Imaging throughout the enterprise, Cardiopulmonary Services at the hospital enterprise wide.
QUALIFICATIONS:
120 bed general acute care hospital provides both primary care and a full range of secondary level services. The Hospital operates a 14-bed intensive care unit, and a telemetry unit as well as pediatric beds.
A full range of Diagnostics are available here including spiral CT scanning, nuclear medicine, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), cardiovascular diagnostics and complete gastroenterology service. The Hospital's 13-station outpatient renal Dialysis Center and inpatient acute treatment center services residents from a four-county area in the Finger Lakes.
