Railroad Conductors and Yardmasters jobs in Norfolk, VA

Civil Works Contracting is looking for an experienced railroad Superintendent to manage a railroad service and maintenance contract in the Portsmouth VA area. Applicants must be able to pass a drug screening and federal background check for military base work.

Responsibilities:

• Being a team leader, train and direct all members of the team.
• Be able to participate in the maintenance and construction of track.
• Execute a monthly schedule for service work.
• Can operate equipment effectively and safely.
• Have full understanding and experience in all methods of track construction and maintenance.
• Daily reporting of production and time sheets.
• Be able to work overtime and weekends when necessary.
• Coordinate work activities with owner.

Requirements:

• Have a valid driver’s license acceptable for company insurance review.
• Pass drug screenings
• Gain Military Base access.
• Be able to follow directions and work well with others
• Must be familiar with military and FRA rules and regulations.

Qualifications:

• Pass background check and pass drug screenings
• High school education / GED
• 5-10 years of track construction and maintenance experience.
• Basic welding skills

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
