The Salvation Army, an internationally recognized non-profit, faith based organization, has a job opening for a Day Camp Worker, for the Kroc Center, located in Biloxi, Mississippi.
Job Summary: Leads children activities at the RJKCCC day camp including arts and crafts activities, sports activities and specialized programs; prepares and serves children lunch and snacks; assists in leading field trips; maintains the cleanliness of the day camp area.
Performs other related work as required. which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of the principles and practices of Child Behavior and Development. Knowledge of the principles and practices of First Aid and C.P.R and ability to ensure the safety of children. Ability to build effective and positive relationships. Ability to plan, develop, and implement effective childhood programs and activities.
Education and Experience: High school diploma or G.E.D. required, and two years of experience teaching child development programs, or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Licenses and Certifications: Valid state driver's license.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: Ability to meet attendance requirements. Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language. Ability to observe children and ensure their safety. Duties are usually performed by combinations of sitting, standing, and walking on a frequent change basis.
Additional Information: Position is seasonal - May-August. Full-time (37.5 hours per week).
