    SUMMARY
    Loads, unloads, moves materials and fills containers within plant by performing the following duties.
     
    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
     
    RESPONSIBILITIES MAY VARY BY BRANCH:
     
    Job duties may vary based on business needs but may result in generating, handling, and/or inspection of hazardous waste and hazardous waste storage.  This can include responding or managing hazardous waste spills and incidents based on the sites emergency action or contingency plan.  These duties include preparing and managing hazardous waste records such as manifests, inspection logs, waste determination and other reports.
     
    Reads work order or follows oral instructions to ascertain materials or containers to be moved.
     
    Uses forklift truck to load and unload materials onto or from trucks.
     
    Loads and unloads tank trucks.
     
    Conveys materials from storage or work sites to designated area.
     
    Responsible for bleach production.
     
    Produces liquid soda ash and/or hypochlorite, drums sodium hypochlorite.
     
    Operates industrial truck or electric hoist to assist in loading or moving materials and products.
     
    Responsible for daily forklift inspections, light maintenance and housekeeping in work areas.
     
    Responsible for safety equipment and procedures.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
    High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
     
    LANGUAGE SKILLS
    Ability to read documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
     
    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
    Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
     
    REASONING ABILITY
    Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
     
    OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
    Ability to operate forklift truck and other mechanical equipment.
