    We are hiring immediately for this Jockey Driver position at the Norfolk Southern Railyard in Harrisburg, PA in a recession-proof industry! This is an entry-level full-time permanent position with on-the-job training. We'll teach you everything you need to know to be successful on the job. No Experience is required. The job is a combination of a Hostler Driver and Ground Person as they are 1 and the same job.

    Starting Rate is $18.57/hr

    We're hiring for the below shift start time(s): (These will be ElGHT hour shifts with a mandatory four hour holdover when necessary)
    • 5:00 PM

    Qualifications: (NO RAILROAD EXPERIENCE REQUIRED)
    • Must have a valid Driver's License and reliable transportation.
    • Pass a 7-year background check. (Felonies in the last 7 yrs, jail time, parole, or probation in the last 5 yrs, or pending charges could disqualify applicants)
    • Pass a drug test & a Physical Capabilities Test. **Job includes running heavy equipment and drugs including Cannabis are strictly prohibited**
    • No GED or diploma is required.
    • Strong communication skills are required.

    APPLICANTS MUST currently live within a 1-hour commute of Harrisburg, PA. OUT OF AREA candidates and/or those requiring relocation will NOT be considered.

    Responsibilities: watch this YouTube video to see what you'll be doing
    • Drive a jockey truck moving 53ft trailers, containers, and chassis around the yard.
    • Various Ground person duties, climbing on and off railcars, locking and unlocking tracks, putting in and taking out inner box connectors (IBCs).
    • Assist packer operators in loading and unloading the equipment using hand signals.
    • Assist in the process of stacking and unstacking chassis as well as loading and unloading chassis racks.
    • Other assigned duties.
