Supervisory Responsibilities:
- In absence of the Sportsbook Manager.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Welcomes guests to the Sportsbook room and explains Sportsbook promotional programs to potential guests and keeps guests informed of all promotional activities and events.
- Responsible for being well-versed in the products and services offered in the Sportsbook room and the ability to promote them to guests in a confident and efficient manner.
- Communicates and explains wagering to new guests and is able to use simple terms to communicate the process of wagering.
- On an as needed basis, responsible for placing tickets, verifying and/or processing winning tickets
- Must maintain strict confidence of all confidential and proprietary information disclosed by the Casino, team member of the Casino, or a guest of the Casino
- Clearly communicate all pertinent information and any irregularities to your manager.
- Resolves complaints and difficult situations in a calm and patient manner.
- Ensures compliance with Virginia Lottery Board regulations, the company's internal controls and departmental procedures.
- Supervise, assist, and train Sportsbook Writers.
- Approves all Sportsbook over-the-limit wagers for the property within prescribed guidelines.
- Close out Sportsbook Writers at the end of the shift and ensure money has been transferred to the main cage.
- Ensure compliance with currency transaction requirements, Title 31, and money laundering and other gaming requirements.
- When starting a shift as a Sportsbook Supervisor, the Team Member may dual rate down once to serve as a Sports Book Writer but may not dual rate back up again in the same shift. The position may never approve or verify their own work. This includes any forms or procedures that require a Sportsbook Supervisor and Sports Book Writer to verify, inspect or sign. This position may not void transactions that were written by the designated Dual Rate employee while working as a Sports Book Writer. Separate credentials will be utilized while performing duties as either a Sports Book Supervisor or Sports Book Writer.
- All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and property policies, practices, and procedures.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- High school diploma or GED is required.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Minimum one (1) year prior cashiering/money handling experience preferred.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to be a TEAM player
- Ability to successfully fulfill the pre-employment process
- Ability to work flexible shifts and days of the week including holidays
- Ability to obtain and maintain all necessary licensing
Certifications, Licenses, and/or Registrations:
- Gaming license/registration as required by jurisdiction(s).
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proactive and independent with the ability to take initiative.
- Familiarity with laws, regulations, and best practices applicable to sports betting
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Physical Requirements:
- Regularly required to see, walk, talk and hear; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
- Must occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
- Able to work with others while maintaining a positive and professional demeanor.
- Must be able to tolerate secondhand smoke, high noise levels, bright lights and dust.
- Must have the ability to stand and walk for long periods of time.
