SmartHire is looking for a Customer Service – Rate Specialist for a client in Tacoma WA. This is a Direct Hire position. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of recent billing experience within the transportation or similar industry.
Salary:
$50k-$55k DOE

Summary:
This position is responsible for providing excellent customer service by documenting and communicating cargo and rate information accurately and efficiently.
Responsible for creating timely and accurate invoices.
Responsibilities
· Manages customer transactions including Documentation, Rating, Pre-Auditing, and Problem Resolution.
· Develop an understanding of customer business models/processes for all accounts.
· Evaluate customer needs and recommend solutions.
· Educate customers regarding documentation and regulatory requirements.
· Process paperwork and attach documentation to bookings.
· Complete daily/weekly department task (TAG, Weekend charges, Sub report, Load ID numbers, Shipment with no terms, TB report, AFF drays).
· Run and audit various reports.
· Daily communication with other departments.
· Provide support throughout the department.
· Perform accurate and efficient data entry/keyboarding.
· Report on developing market conditions, service issues and competitive activities.
· Effectively perform additional duties, as assigned.
Experience:
· 2 years of billing experience within transportation or similar
· Associates Degree preferred
· Strong MS Office
· Strong written and verbal communication skills
