    Summary Description

    Provides hardware/application support to network users throughout an assigned territory.

    Essential Functions

    • Travels to company facilities as necessary to assemble and configure desktop and laptop computers Installs and tests necessary software and hardware
    • Performs network trouble shooting to isolate and diagnose common network problems
    • Recognize abnormal conditions and determine appropriate actions
    • Works with PC users to troubleshoot issues and diagnose symptoms
    • Upgrades network hardware and software components as required
    • Installs, upgrades and configures network printing, directory structures, rights, security, software and file services
    • Prepares technical service reports and forms
    • Responds to critical incidents without advanced notice to correct/prevent IT emergencies
    • Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions

    Position Requirements

    • Minimum of 2 years technical training or equivalent on-the-job training in a technical environment
    • Minimum of 2 years in a technical support position
    • The work requires some physical exertion such as walking, bending, stooping and carrying of light to moderately heavy items in the course of the work
    • Requires a valid driver’s license with exemplary driving record
    • Frequent daily travel and occasional overnight travel required-less than 5%
    • Availability to work nights, weekends and overtime as needed
    • Work is generally performed indoors in environmentally controlled conditions
    • Typically, the employee may sit to perform the work. However, there may be some standing, walking, bending and carrying of light items in the course of the work
