Associate Attorney

  • What You’ll Do:
    As an Associate Attorney, you will proactively support Coastal Ridge operations and General Counsel in a constantly changing business and regulatory environment. You will support the General Counsel in preparing and organizing various legal documents pertaining to commercial real estate transactions including acquisitions, dispositions, and financings.  You will also work with the Capital Markets Team to document, close, and manage Coastal Ridge’s real estate funds.  Unlike working in many law firms or large companies you will interact directly with the decision makers on the business teams to help proactively structure transactions from their inception and identify and mitigate risk.  Reporting to the General Counsel, this individual will be responsible for a variety of matters covering a broad range of responsibilities, driving positive impact on corporate operations.

    Located in downtown Columbus, Ohio, our corporate offices overlook the Columbus Commons which plays hosts to over 200 events throughout the year.     What You’ll Own:
    • Support the General Counsel in all components of active and future commercial real estate transactions within our portfolio, including acquisitions, dispositions, and financings
    • Maintain tracking of active deal checklists and supporting documentation
    • Coordinate due diligence reviews for active and future transactions
    • Assist the General Counsel and Capital Markets Team with the formation and management of Coastal Ridges investment funds
    • Draft correspondence to internal and external stakeholders
    • Other duties as directed and assigned by the General Counsel, President, or Managing Partners
     
    What You’ll Bring:
    • Completion of a JD from an accredited law school and licensed to practice in Ohio
    • 1-5 years of proven experience with a law firm, with a focus on commercial real estate transactions (acquisitions, dispositions, financings) preferred. Multifamily transactions and fund creation a plus.
    • Experience with Microsoft Office products, including Word and Excel.
