Position In Brief:
Highly successful, rapidly growing real estate firm in the Long Beach area is looking for a full time in-house Transactional/Real Estate Staff Attorney with at least 15 years of transactional/real estate experience, with emphasis on Multifamily real estate projects, review and drafting of purchase and sale agreements, leases, covenants conditions.
The right candidate for this position is capable of critical thinking, will be able to independently plan, prioritize, and organize a diverse workload in a fast-paced environment, will provide quality and impeccable work product, and will turnaround assignments in an expeditious manner. They will be able to communicate effectively and professionally with the president of the company, attorneys, paralegals, property managers, staff, vendors, contractors, and other internal and external resources.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare and negotiate purchase and sale agreements, closing documents, leases, amendments, loan documents, Settlement Agreements, Management Agreements, Fee Agreements, Operating Agreements for the entities, and Engagement due diligence items, including organizational documents, title and survey, and address any closing issues
- Negotiate, prepare, and revise restrictive covenants, subordination agreements, loan agreements and modifications
- Advise President on legal ramifications/consequences regarding choices made on properties, contracts, etc.
REQUIREMENTS
- Actively Licensed by the State Bar of California with no history of suspension or discipline
- Must have a minimum of 15 years of current, relevant work experience with substantial real estate experience.
- Must have commercial real estate transaction knowledge, including working on purchase and sale agreements, leases, acquisitions, mortgage and asset-based financing, dispositions and development of real property and assets.
- Experience negotiating various agreements associated with lease transactions and management of properties, including broker listing and registration agreements, tenant improvement contracts, build-to-suit leases, straight leases, renewals, sublease and assignment transactions, lease takeovers, ground leases, property management agreements
- Must understand all aspects of real estate transactions
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify and manage priorities
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Ability to multi-task and work both in a team and independently
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
- Demonstration of polish, poise and corporate etiquette
- Strong respect of confidentiality, moral obligations and fiduciary duties
