    What you’ll do:

    Provides administrative support for patient chart preparation and front desk support.

    Responsibilities/Duties:

    • Daily scanning of all paperwork generated per protocols
    • Retrieving and sorting superbills and other paperwork left after clinic
    • Maintain fax log and ensure failed faxes are resent properly
    • Send patient notes to other offices via secure email, faxing, etc
    • Update and maintain referring physician hospital affiliation list in practice management system
    • Deal with problems that come up as the day progresses/troubleshooting
    • Printing patient schedules for the different providers' upcoming appointments.
    • Printing cover sheets and filling them out with a patient's account number, name, DOB, time and date of visit, date of injury, date of surgery if it applies.
    • Cross checking demographics to confirm they are correct
    • Documenting the insurance carrier, checking eligibility, and making sure there is a valid referral in place if required.
    • Calling Primary Care offices to request referrals for upcoming appointments.
    • Document copayments and outstanding balances
    • Verify that all test results and office notes are available and printed for the patient’s appointment, including labs/radiology/neurological testing, etc.
    • Verify that all preoperative testing and surgical consents are available and printed for preoperative appointments
    • Cover co-workers’ vacation/sick/personal time
    • Other duties as assigned by managers and leads

    Who you are:

    Qualifications:

    • High School diploma or equivalent experience
    • One-year medical office experience.
    • Able to react calmly and effectively under stress
    • Ability to interpret, adapt and apply guidelines and procedures
    • Develop and maintain effective and professional working relationships with patients, medical staff, coworkers and the public by displaying sympathy, tact and understanding
    • Must be a team player with a positive attitude, adjust to various personalities, work with a diverse population, demonstrating patience and professionalism
    • Promotes teamwork through collaboration
    • Represents the clinic in a professional manner
    • Able to maintain strict confidentiality on all patient issues
