Records Manager develops and manages the company records department and information management programs. Responsible for overseeing the storage, backup, maintenance, reproduction, protection, and disposition of all records. Being a Records Manager evaluates and recommends media formats and storage requirements to be used for records/information. Ensures that processes and policies that comply with all regulatory requirements for record retention are followed. Additionally, Records Manager designs and implements systems and processes to protect and secure critical records and information. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Records Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Extensive knowledge of department processes.     The Records Associate is primarily responsible for providing a tier one standard of service and support to for students, faculty and staff. This position is also responsible for managing the registration process and maintaining accurate academic records for native and transfer students.

    Key Functions/Responsibilities/Tasks:

    Manage, respond to and process all inquiries regarding, but not limited to, student major changes, advisor assignments, accelerated program applications, reverse transfer and tuition assistance waivers in accordance with University policies.

    Manage and process forms to advance and update student records including, but not limited to, registrations, drop/add forms, FERPA restrictions and release forms, name changes, leave of absence and SSN updates in accordance with University policies. Completes periodic grade change audits verifying accuracy.

    Manages and maintains student records for special populations, including but not limited to, Degrees2Succeed and dual high school enrollments, while providing support to students and other departments.

    Required Education:
    Bachelor’s degree

    Required Experience:
    One year of related experience.
    Additional related experience and formal education in which one has gained the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for full performance of the work of the job class may be substituted for the education or experience requirement on a year-for-year basis with 30 college credits being equivalent to one year of experience.

    Preferred Experience:
    3 years of customer service and working in higher education environment, using a student information system.

    Ability to work independently and to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Excellent time management and communication skills. Strong organizational skills. Demonstrated experience working under pressure and apply critical thinking skills. Responds with appropriate urgency to customer requests for information and/or assistance. Effectively follows university policies without alienating customers. Serves as a resource for those less experienced. Is results-oriented, takes accountability for completing work assignments and meets commitments and deadlines.

    Possible occasional evening and weekend hours required.
