Records Manager develops and manages the company records department and information management programs. Responsible for overseeing the storage, backup, maintenance, reproduction, protection, and disposition of all records. Being a Records Manager evaluates and recommends media formats and storage requirements to be used for records/information. Ensures that processes and policies that comply with all regulatory requirements for record retention are followed. Additionally, Records Manager designs and implements systems and processes to protect and secure critical records and information. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Records Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Extensive knowledge of department processes.     What you’ll be doing to make an impact:

    • Operates radio system to dispatch and communicate with patrol units.
    • Receives incoming calls on telephone lines and channels calls to proper departments.
    • Sends out and receives messages on computer or teletype.
    • Operates FCIC/NCIC computer, communicating statewide and nationwide.
    • Maintains and releases motor vehicle registration information to law enforcement agencies.
    • Receives all complaints; assigns complaint numbers; dispatches patrol units; dispatches other emergency vehicles; notifies news media of serious accidents or disasters.
    • Performs clerical work such as filing, typing, and compiling reports.
    • Prepares and mails Florida citation abstracts to the State.
    • Prepares department payroll; maintains other specialized records and reports
    • Scanning incoming mail.

    What you’ll bring to the table:

    • High School Diploma or equivalent
    • Public safety dispatching experience preferred
    • Typing proficiency of thirty (30) correct words per minute
    • Possession of or ability to obtain FCIC Certification from State of Florida within six (6) months of employment
    • Knowledge of geography of the area
    • Knowledge of department rules, regulations, and procedures
    • Knowledge of operation requirements for public safety radio dispatching
    • Ability to evaluate situations and make decisions quickly in accordance with procedures, regulations, and established policies
    • Ability to establish and maintain simple and complex record keeping systems
    • Ability to prepare complex reports or tabulations from records
    • Ability to deal tactfully and courteously with the public and city officials
