Records Supervisor supervises a team working in the company records department and information management programs. Responsible for overseeing the storage, backup, maintenance, reproduction, protection, and disposition of all records. Being a Records Supervisor evaluates and recommends media formats and storage requirements to be used for records/information. Provides training and guidance to end users. Additionally, Records Supervisor may require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Records Supervisor supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. Thorough knowledge of functional area under supervision. JOB SUMMARY:
A Medical Records Specialist is responsible for maintaining resident healthcare information and records for our Skilled Nursing Facility. This position will focus on ensuring the facility is meeting HIPAA requirements.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Copy 24 hour report to all departments
- Input telephone orders
- Organize charts for new admissions and enter into EHR system
- Collect, assemble, check and file resident charts
- Run MDS due and completed reports
- Organize discharge charts
- Review all treatment and medication books and update physician orders
- Other duties as assigned
