Old Bridge Parks & Recreation is looking for a Part Time Therapeutic Program Coordinator for

Camp R.O.B.I.N. (Recreation in Old Bridge for those In Need) Program. This position is 20 hours per week

Organizes, directs and coordinates the activities and programs of Camp Robin's Recreation including Robin's Summer Camp, Fall/Winter/Spring Programs & Saturday Program, Friday Night Fun for Teens and Adults, and any additional programs within the scope of Camp ROBIN. This position will provide advanced programmatic and supervisory support to the Therapeutic Recreation program and staff. This position is responsible for the planning, coordination, implementation and supervision of programs for individuals with special needs.

Assists in formulating and managing the budget, interact with the public in a courteous and effective manner. Will create and implement a Community Inclusion Program. Evening, weekend and flexible hours are required.

Our ideal candidate will provide a high-level professional expertise and technical knowledge in therapeutic recreation, special events, community recreation, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), program planning, staff supervision, behavior management, marketing and time management.

• Responsible for the assessment of participants' complex needs, through their IEP or ISP provision of accommodations to facilitate program participation, development of programs to meet assessed community needs, verification that staff follow safety procedures, and resolution of problems or complaints.

• Recruits, selects, trains and supervises program staff, including the coordination of work schedules, including counseling of work performance.

• Coordinates internally and externally, acting as a liaison and/or resource to departmental personnel. Performs community outreach and develops partnerships.

• Manages inventory of equipment and supplies and completes the financial management (revenue and expenses; budget projections, purchase tracking, and cost recovery) of programs under supervision.

• Ensures safety of participants, staff, and volunteers. Develops and maintains a written emergency plan. Maintains appropriate Red Cross certification (i.e., first aid, CPR, AED lifesaving). Restraint Training a plus

• Bachelor's Degree or four years progressively responsible experience in Therapeutic Recreation and/or related field (i.e. special education, physical education, rehabilitation, etc.).

• Four years progressively responsible professional experience, with at least 2 years as supervisor of a program or facility.

• An equivalent combination of education and experience.
