Recreational Therapist plans and directs medically approved therapeutic recreational programs for patients. Organizes activities according to patients' capabilities, needs, and interests. Being a Recreational Therapist conducts programs including symptom management, basic conversation skills, community re-entry, sports, gardening, dramatics, music, social activities, and arts and crafts. Prepares reports for patients' physicians describing individual patient symptoms and reactions to therapeutic programs. Additionally, Recreational Therapist conducts activity therapy assessment of a patient's strengths and needs, and recommends therapeutic activity. Documents progress on each patient. Requires a license/certification to practice from the National Council of Therapeutic Recreation Specialists. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. Requires to practice from the National Council of Therapeutic Recreation Specialists. Recreational Therapist's years of experience requirement may be unspecified.     Select Physical Therapy is seeking an outpatient Physical Therapist in Beaumont, TX.

     

    Our Beaumont physical therapy center is looking for a passionate and driven licensed Physical Therapist.     Schedule: Per Diem hours M-F as needed.

    Responsibilities

    • Understand appropriate state practice acts and adhere to the laws which govern how physical therapists may practice and whom physical therapists may supervise.
    • Complete and maintain all corporate & clinical services required training and maintain compliance with state/local/federal regulations.
    • Evaluate, treat, and direct treatment for patients for whom physical therapy is medically necessary and document this need clearly.
    • Maintain open and respectful communication with co-workers, physicians, patients, family members, and third-party payors at all times.
    • Attend and/or participate in facility meetings as directed by the center manager.

    Qualifications

    • Must be a graduate of an American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) accredited school of physical therapy
    • Valid State Physical Therapy License/ Registration REQUIRED to start
    • Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification required.
