Recreational Therapist jobs in Portland, ME

Recreational Therapist plans and directs medically approved therapeutic recreational programs for patients. Organizes activities according to patients' capabilities, needs, and interests. Being a Recreational Therapist conducts programs including symptom management, basic conversation skills, community re-entry, sports, gardening, dramatics, music, social activities, and arts and crafts. Prepares reports for patients' physicians describing individual patient symptoms and reactions to therapeutic programs. Additionally, Recreational Therapist conducts activity therapy assessment of a patient's strengths and needs, and recommends therapeutic activity. Documents progress on each patient. Requires a license/certification to practice from the National Council of Therapeutic Recreation Specialists. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. Requires to practice from the National Council of Therapeutic Recreation Specialists. Recreational Therapist's years of experience requirement may be unspecified.     Responsibilities and Qualifications

    How you will be successful: 

    • Develop and achieve short and long-term retail plans. 
    • Manage and delegate planned priorities to Sales Managers and Shop Service Managers. 
    • Create a positive employee experience focused on engagement and retention. 
    • Use store reports to identify strategies for improving metrics. 
    • Oversee store's profitability and financial budgeting. 
    • Monitor inventory levels, facilities, and other assets. 
    • Engage in local organizations and community events. 
    • Inspire a customer-centric culture by recognizing and rewarding team. 
    • Develop top performers and evaluate performance. 
    • Builds teams through effective employee development, involvement, and communication.

    Your qualities: 

    • 3-5 years of retail store management experience (preferred) 
    • Enjoys communicating and building relationships, both inside and outside the organization.

    • Makes solid recommendations by combining information from various sources.
