Sapphire Center for Rehabilitation, a long term skilled nursing facility located in Dutchess County, New York, has an immediate opening for an enthusiastic and energetic full and part time entry level Recreational Leader. This job entails leading residents in scheduled recreational activities, which include and are not limited to singing, dancing, arts and crafts and painting.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Assisting in planning and promoting recreation based on individualized needs and interests and encouraging participation and engagement;
· Visiting bed-bound residents and non-participants and providing appropriate recreation services for them;
· Assisting with monthly newsletter and recreation calendar;
· Assisting with volunteer program, admission assessments, and community interaction programs;
· Ensuring that residents and families receive the highest quality of service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere that recognizes each individual’s needs and rights;
· Assisting in the transportation of residents to and from activities;
· Assisting residents’ in scheduling and partaking in FaceTime, WhatsApp, Zoom, and Facebook video calls;
QUALIFICATIONS:
· High School Diploma or Equivalent;
· Demonstrated skills in one of the following areas: music (vocal or instrumental), arts & crafts, movement/exercise, painting or ceramics.
· Must be able to lift 25 pounds and be on your feet for long durations
