What you will do in your role

Recreational Specialist

-Minimum High School Diploma and 3 years related experience required.

-Associate's Degree with 1 year experience or Bachelor's Degree with related educational focus and experience is preferred.

-Must have valid driver's license and meet insurance liability requirements throughout employment.

• Assist Recreation Director in designing and implementing recreation activities.
• Create and monitor individual recreation goals for each client and report on the progress of the goal during treatment team meetings and staff meetings.
• Work collaboratively with staff within the interdisciplinary team as well as colleagues in other departments to develop a comprehensive recreation plan to provide a positive learning environment for the children in our care.
• Complete required reports and documentation in a timely manner meeting all standards of content and professional presentation.
• Provide for the recreational needs and leisure time activities of children in care by planning and supervising activities both within and away from the unit setting.

Recreational Therapist

-Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university required.

-Licensed Recreational Therapist (LRT) required.

--Must have valid driver's license and meet insurance liability requirements throughout employment.

• Provide treatment services and recreation activities to individuals using a variety of techniques including arts and crafts, animals, sports, games, dance and movement, drama, music, and community outings.
• Treat and help maintain physical, mental, and emotional well-being of clients by seeking to reduce depression, stress and anxiety; recover basic motor functioning and reasoning abilities; build confidence; and socialize effectively.
• Strive to meet the American Therapeutic Recreation Association (ATRA) Standards of Practice.
• Provide and document CFTSS services for eligible clients.

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
