Special Kids Chattanooga’s mission is to serve Jesus Christ by caring for His children who have special healthcare needs. Special Kids has operated in Murfreesboro, TN since 1998, as a not-for-profit Christian healthcare company. The organization is now focused on serving children with special healthcare needs in the greater Chattanooga community. Our goal is to support each child in overcoming obstacles to achieve improved quality of life. We aim to accomplish this goal by providing access to quality, compassionate care for any child in need of occupational, physical, speech, and feeding therapy and providing continuity of care through a unique coordinated multi-disciplinary approach.
Summary:
Special Kids Chattanooga is seeking an experienced development professional who is responsible for oversight, initiative-taking planning, and successful execution of a comprehensive fundraising and development plan. The Director of Development will be motivated and inspired to engage donors and raise funds in support of the mission of Special Kids Chattanooga.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: Other duties may be assigned.
- Grow awareness of the impact of Special Kids Chattanooga in the community.
- Excellent written and communication skills, attention to detail and documentation.
- Works well independently as well as under direct supervision.
- Knowledge of new and traditional fundraising approaches and trends. Creative approach to identifying and implementing development opportunities.
- Collaborate with marketing for the content and distribution of all organization social posts, emails, and publications.
- Must attend meetings and conferences, participate in other activities, have office and remote flexibility and be willing to travel.

Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university in Business, Marketing, Mass Communication, or other related field, 3-5 years development experience, donor management and/or training in not-for-profit fundraising.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE) preferred. CPR certification recommended.
