Recreational Therapy Director directs the programs and staff of the recreational therapy department including policies and procedures. Sets and implements guidelines for recreational therapy programs. Being a Recreational Therapy Director conducts patient programs in areas of social interaction, theater, games, crafts, and music. Communicates the results of patient care to other health services. Additionally, Recreational Therapy Director may require an advanced degree. Typically reports to top management. May require professional certification. The Recreational Therapy Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. JOB SUMMARY:
Serve as official for YMCA Sports Programs. The official is responsible for all aspects of officiating the matches. Officials are required to attend one official training session provided for them.
EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

This individual needs to be at least 18 years old. They must have a good understanding of game rules and equipment used. They must complete the YMCA Youth Super Sports Official's Training Program. Certification with the state association or 2 years experience in specific sport is preferred. Upon hire, must complete Intro to the Ys Cause & Culture, Y's Way to Service & Engagement, and I Hear You: Service with CARE. Within 90 days of hire, Preventing Sexual Abuse Between Young Children, Principles of Youth Development, Youth Affirmations: Distinguishing Between Praise and Encouragement, and Foundations of Listen First trainings required. Within 6 months of hire, Engaging with Families training required. Get SMART, CPR/AED and First Aid preferred. This individual must familiarize themselves with YMCA rules and policies.
SPECIAL SKILLS OR EQUIPMENT REQUIRED:
Must be of sound mind, good character, possess good communication skills and be safety minded at all times. Required to demonstrate Caring, Respect, Honesty, and Responsibility values.
PHYSICAL AND/OR MENTAL REQUIRMENTS:
This individual needs to be able to remain on their feet for extended periods of time demonstrating physical stamina and agility often in extremely warm conditions. They need to be multi-task oriented and be able to read a game/practice schedule to direct player traffic. This individual needs to be able to lift and carry at least 30 pounds. If individual must left and carry more than 30 pounds, they must ask for assistance from another staff member.
