Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) team. As a PICU Nurse, you will be responsible for providing specialized care to critically ill infants, children, and adolescents. Your expertise and clinical skills will play a crucial role in ensuring the well-being and recovery of our young patients.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care in the PICU, including monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and implementing treatment plans
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients
- Assess and evaluate patients' conditions, identifying any changes or deterioration in their health status
- Perform procedures such as dermal fillers, catheterization, pain management, dementia care, triage, and aseptic techniques according to established standards
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians
- Educate patients and their families on disease management, treatment options, and preventive measures
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records using electronic health record systems
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care
- Participate in diagnostic evaluations and assist with procedures related to ophthalmology
- Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain a safe environment for patients and staff
- Stay updated on current medical practices, standards, and guidelines such as ICD-10 coding
