Director of Food Safety and Quality Assurance Description

Our client is on the hunt for a dynamic Director of Food Safety and Quality Assurance to join their team in Union, NJ. Director of Food Safety and Quality Assurance Responsibilities

• Become an expert in all aspects of the company’s ISO, FSSC, & FSMA systems and procedures
• Assist in the maintenance and updating of the quality and food safety manuals
• Participate in company audits to operationally support leadership
• Participate in the response process to customer complaints
• Initiate responses to internal observations and internal opportunities for improvement
• Perform root cause analyses, corrective actions, and/or changes in procedures promptly
• Review and approve all incoming and outgoing vendor COAs
• Be a member of the Internal Audit Team
• Be an active member of the Food Safety Team
• Lead the company culture of quality and food safety
• Be a change agent within the company, proactively identifying opportunities for improvement
• Ensure the QMS and FSMS systems are followed throughout operations
• Participate in the Management Review Meetings
• Manage all aspects of samples to outside labs for testing
• Participate in Operations Projects and Improvements
• Liaise with outside laboratories
• Perform inspections according to company procedures

Director of Food Safety and Quality Assurance Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in a Science or Engineering required
• 3 years of experience in a quality or food safety position required
• Experience working in the Food Industry required
• Ability to travel locally in New Jersey and Internationally once per year required
