Recruiting Director plans, develops, and directs processes to attract, evaluate, and refer candidates for open positions through recruiting website, employee referrals, on-site recruiting and other sourcing methods. Develops and enhances and organization's recruiting program, policies, and procedures. Being a Recruiting Director executes a strategy to position the organization as a preferred employer. Evaluates and communicates key metrics to develop appropriate recruitment strategies and ensure positions are filled efficiently and effectively. Additionally, Recruiting Director maintains relationships with schools, advertisement, and recruitment agencies. Oversees the recruitment for senior level and executive positions.   • JOB SUMMARY

    Under limited supervision of the Security Sergeant or Captain, the employee provides protection of work sites, personnel and assets from events such as assault, theft, vandalism, harassment, and other disruptive incidents at Chevron Phillips Chemical Port Arthur Plant. Veterans and prior law enforcement officers are encouraged to apply.

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • High school diploma or equivalent
    • Military, law enforcement, or security experience required
    • Possess, or ability to obtain upon employment, a Level II Non-Commissioned Security Officer certification in accordance with Texas rules and regulations
    • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
    • Minimum 18 years of age
    • Able to proficiently speak, read, understand and write English
    • Must have a reliable personal vehicle for transportation to/from the work site each day
    • Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) or ability to obtain prior to hire

    DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Experience working in a refinery or plant
    • Experience working in the oil and gas industry
    • Certified in First Aid & CPR, refinery safety standards
    • Conversational Spanish

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    • Perform searches of vehicles (random inspections) which may involve feeling and detecting objects, and walking over uneven terrain for long periods of time
    • Confront suspicious persons, assess intentions, and take action as appropriate
    • Perform rescue functions at accidents, emergencies and disasters
    • Extinguish fires by using a fire extinguisher and other appropriate means
    • Effectively and coherently communicate over radio channels while initiating and responding to radio communications
    • Gather information in investigations by interviewing and obtaining the statements of all participants and witnesses. Reduce the results of those investigations into written form so as to clearly and accurately reflect the information obtained
    • Read, comprehend, and employ policies and procedures
    • Comprehend, evaluate, and correctly respond to oral information
    • Operate a motor vehicle during both the day and night; in urban and rural setting
    • Conduct visual surveillance for extended periods of time
    • Observe, recall, and distinguish characteristics of persons, suspects, automobiles, location, property, etc. to include colors, shapes, sizes, height, weight, abnormalities, changes or differences since last observed, and other distinguishing characteristics
    • Understand and successfully execute post orders including enforcement of client and company policies, rules and regulations
    • Maintain a neat, professional appearance and come to work in complete and clean assigned uniform (provided)
    • Ability to work in a constant state of alertness in a safe manner
    • May be required to report back to work as necessary for emergent matters
    • Willingness to perform other duties as required
    • Willingness to work at various locations as required

      WORKING ENVIRONMENT

      The employee will be required to work in a confined workspace such as a security guard post or patrol vehicle for extended periods of time and exposure to work assignments consisting of twelve-hour days and able to work day or night shifts as required. The majority of the work is performed in a refinery and railyard setting with a wide variety of people in differing functions, personalities and abilities. 

      PHYSICAL DEMANDS

      The employee’s work requires routine walking, standing, bending and carrying items up to 50 lbs. There may be a lack of immediate access to critical medical services as well as urban community services. Candidates will be required to successfully complete a post-offer functional capacity exam (FCE).
