We are looking for a Recruiting Specialist to on-board new employees and assist the General Manager with Human Resource duties. This individual must be professional, responsible, have great attention to detail, be a people person, work well under pressure, be a self-starter and have a positive attitude.
Duties
The Recruiting Specialist is responsible for:
· Assisting the General Manager with handling general administrative duties.
· Answer telephones, route calls, and take messages.
· Managing various job postings to stay within budget.
· Recruiting, interviewing, checking references and completing new hire paper work.
· Adding new applicants to software programs.
· Ensures employees adhere to random DOT Drug testing.
· Assists in tracking employee work anniversary and birthdays.
· Work with management on typing employee maintenance documents.
· Scan and electronically file, ensuring documents are saved in a consistent format.
· Maintain organization of the Human Resource department.
· Stay knowledgeable of local compliance with all Federal, State and local legislations pertaining to employment practices. (EEO) Equal Opportunity laws, all Worker’s Compensation laws, the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and the National Labor Relations Act (NLRA).
· Assists General Manager with ensuring that corporate policies outlined in the Employee Handbook are administered.
· Assist with employee benefit packages. (Medical, Dental, 401K) Including overseeing the enrollment and termination for all employees.
· Ensure payroll deductions associated with employee benefits are deducted accurately and timely, including Child Support, NASSCO Certifications, State and Federal withholding orders.
· Assist with exit interview paper work, ensure proper employee termination paperwork is signed and completed properly within requirements. Invoice for unreturned items. Ensure codes/logins are changed accordingly for security purposes.
· Oversee EDD unemployment claims. Ensure validity and protect the company from false claims. Investigate Labor Board Compliance and OSHA claims.
· Create a positive work environment. Coach employees and help with team building.
· Ensure all staff time punches are accurate.
· Determine prevailing wage determinations. Calculate prevailing wage to prepare for payroll.
