Verifies insurance coverage and obtains required authorizations when necessary. Additionally, Referral Specialist documents referrals, communications, actions, and other data in an information management system. Generates and distributes all applicable forms, notifications, and paperwork. Requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a supervisor. Position Overview:
The Referral Specialist helps connect families and doctors to the appropriate therapist and discipline. This position performs clerical and administrative work such as communicating with doctors offices and other referral sources, data processing, facilitating scheduling patients for evaluations, and providing excellent customer service.
