Eligibility Referral Specialist 2
The Champaign County Department of Job and Family Services is accepting resumes for a full-time position of Eligibility
Referral Specialist 2 in the Public Assistance Unit, Long Term Care and Benefit Recovery.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Be able to identify problems with complex variables, analyze, evaluate & draw valid conclusions, maintain accuracy while
handling a constantly fluctuating workload; AND 12 months prior experience as an Eligibility Referral Specialist with
knowledge of laws and regulations governing Public Assistance Programming; OR 12 months prior education in human
services, behavioral or social science, or a related field; OR have performed work experience in interviewing techniques,
business math, case preparation techniques, business writing, customer service techniques and computer technology.
DUTIES:
The person will be performing case management and customer service type duties, which includes determining eligibility for
SNAP, Medicaid, and Title XX public assistance benefits to customers who are determined Aged/Blind/Disabled, living in
Long Term Care, or receiving Home Community Based Services (HCBS), Special Recovery Services, or Disability
Determination Medicaid. In addition to computing and pursuing collections for public assistance programs and preparing
agency state hearing appeals.
PAY RANGE BASED ON QUAILIFICATIONS: $17.44 to $22.96 per hour, based on experience
