Refinery Operator controls equipment systems that process natural gas or petroleum into specified products. Responsibilities include monitoring pressure and flow and reading gauges and adjusting valves as needed. Being a Refinery Operator requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Refinery Operator works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. Job Purpose :
The Operator will have responsibility for working safely and effectively as a business partner in the production unit to achieve the goals of the manufacturing team.
This includes monitoring, maintaining and controlling equipment and processes throughout the unit based on requirements stated in related permits, Standard Operating Procedures and Daily Operating Instructions.

Requested Education / Experience :
Associates Degree (not a certificate) in Chemical Process Technology or a minimum of two years relevant experience in a petrochemical manufacturing facility / refinery Functional ability in Microsoft Office software tools : Word and Excel Proficient math skills : addition, subtraction, multiplication and division Excellent verbal and written communication skills for the requirement to communicate with other process operators and staff personnel (fluent in English) Must be able to read Standard Operating Procedures and other manuals (English) Mechanical aptitude
