Refinery Operator controls equipment systems that process natural gas or petroleum into specified products. Responsibilities include monitoring pressure and flow and reading gauges and adjusting valves as needed. Being a Refinery Operator requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Refinery Operator works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. SUMMARY: The Process Operator is responsible for operations of equipment in their assigned area of the facility. Provides support to other Operators and Lab Staff to ensure operational standards are met.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The employee must occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds. Must be able to move from place to place to all production areas. Must be able to climb ladders or platforms. Must be able to wear all safety and production-related equipment.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment varies from an office, Plant production, and outside climate conditions, based on the situation. Noise level varies upon which area of production the employee is working in. May be required to work at remote locations.
NORMAL WORK SCHEDULE: The hours and days of work are established by departmental needs and at the discretion of management. Occasionally, overtime or changes in schedule will be required as special circumstances arise. (Or include a specific work schedule.)
