Job Description:
- Provide senior leadership and strategic direction to the organization.
- Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve organizational goals.
- Oversee and manage all aspects of the organization's operations.
- Lead and supervise staff members, ensuring effective team performance.

- Identify and pursue business development opportunities to enhance organizational growth.
- Manage budgets and financial resources effectively.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and policies.
- Represent the organization to external stakeholders, including government agencies, partners, and donors.
- Oversee project management activities and ensure timely completion of projects.
- Drive process improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.
Director Responsibilities:
- Manage and assist all aspects of the organization's operations, including budgeting, financial management, and resource allocation.
- Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve organizational goals and objectives.
- Lead and supervise a team of employees, providing guidance and support to ensure effective performance.
- Foster a positive and inclusive work environment that promotes teamwork and collaboration.
- Identify opportunities for business development and growth, including new partnerships and revenue streams.
- Negotiate contracts and agreements with vendors, suppliers, and other external stakeholders.
- Implement process improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.
- Oversee project management activities, ensuring timely completion of deliverables.
- Provide senior leadership to the organization, serving as a representative in external meetings and events.
- Collaborate with the board of directors to develop policies, procedures, and strategic direction.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in executive leadership roles, preferably in a similar industry or nonprofit organization.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a team towards achieving organizational goals.
- Excellent strategic planning abilities with a focus on long-term vision and sustainability.
- Demonstrated expertise in operations management, including budgeting, financial analysis, and resource allocation.
- Proficient in project management methodologies with the ability to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong negotiation skills with the ability to build relationships and secure favorable agreements.
- Experience in business development, including identifying new opportunities for growth and revenue generation.
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels.
- A commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion principles in all aspects of organizational management.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Facilitates weekly Leadership Team meeting and provide pertinent program information to staff.
- Leads team by example.
- Provide adequate structure, supervision, direction, and feedback to staff.
- Encourages staff to take responsibility for their own actions and growth.
- Manages staff conflict or behavior, including but not limited to, written warnings or termination.
- Conducts yearly evaluations of Case Managers, Clinical Directors, or other direct report positions.
- Creates a culture of mutual trust and understanding.
- Exhibits fairness for all staff.
- Demonstrates ownership for staff development including but not limited to onboarding new hires, providing in-the-moment coaching, finding creative coaching moments, and utilizing feedback or performance improvement measures when necessary.
- Provides crisis support and coaching to all program areas as needed.
- Identifies needs for ongoing training and support.
- Conducts intensive client staffing weekly or as scheduled.
- Assesses mentor training needs and guides mentor work groups.
Community Engagement:
- Communicates regularly with Educational Consultants or other stakeholders.
- Fosters community connections to create opportunities for Kulima clients.
- Attends conferences to increase the knowledge base and networking.
- Coordinates and oversees the internship program.
- Assists with interviews and monitors staffing needs.
