Duties:
- Assist customers in selecting wines that complement their meals and preferences
- Provide detailed descriptions of wines, including tasting notes and food pairing suggestions
- Maintain an organized and well-stocked wine cellar
- Collaborate with the culinary team to create wine lists that enhance the dining experience
- Conduct wine tastings and educational events for staff and customers
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and new wine releases
- Handle cash transactions using the cash register system
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations
- Assist with meal preparation and menu planning as needed
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Sommelier or similar role in a restaurant setting
- Extensive knowledge of different types of wines, regions, and vintages
- Familiarity with wine service techniques, including decanting and proper glassware selection
- Proficiency in using Aloha POS or similar restaurant management software
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent customer service abilities
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Cash handling experience is preferred but not required
- Must be at least 21 years old
