The Norfolk Nebraska Airport Authority is seeking an experienced individual to become our next Airport Manager who leads by example, exemplifying integrity, professionalism, and has excellent communication skills. Under the direction of Norfolk Airport Authority Board, this position is responsible for the operation and management of the Airport on a day-to-day basis.
Norfolk Regional Airport has two runways. The Norfolk Airport Authority owns and operates Norfolk Airport Services, an FBO (Fixed Based Operator) business that includes Avgas (full service and self-service) and jet fuel (full service only).
Duties/Responsibilities:
· The Airport Manager is responsible for planning, prioritizing, and overseeing all airport operations and FBO services of the Airport.
· Oversees all hiring, training, and supervising of all Airport Authority personnel, including maintenance, FBO line technicians, and office manager.
· The Airport Manager will prepare grant proposals and funding requests to ensure the success of both short-term and long-term goals.
· The Airport Manager is responsible for developing policies, negotiating with a variety of companies and contracts, preparing, and implementing the capital improvement program (CIP) and preparing, implementing, and maintaining the annual budget.
· Works with Engineers, Federal Aviation Administration, Nebraska Department of Aeronautics in managing all airport projects and ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal agencies.
· Oversee runway / taxiway / lighting system inspections. Keep airport facilities in a safe and operable condition. Arrange for repairs as needed.
· The Airport Manager represents the City’s and Airport’s interests in economic development, marketing, and planning activities.
· Responsible for reporting on the FAA National Based Aircraft Inventory Program.
· Prepare the monthly agenda and conduct monthly Authority Board meetings.
· The Airport Manager is the landlord for all Airport facilities and reviews and approves tenant activities including lease compliance and maintenance requests.
Skills/Experience:
· Skilled in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with State, Federal, Local officials, elected officials, department heads, staff, Airport tenants and City residents.
· The Manager will give presentations on the Airport and its plans, programs, and goals to public groups.
· Responsible for and oversees the airport budget along with financial transactions of the airport.
· Work to be performed with considerable independence under the general direction of the Airport Authority.
Education/Training
· Previous airport management experience highly desired.
· Course work or instruction in airport or aviation management or any equivalent combination of work experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities of aviation management.
