  • The Day Publishing is looking for a Human Resource Manager to oversee all Human Resource operations. This person will work closely with management to develop and implement policies and strategies that align with the mission vision and values of the organization.

    Job Title: Human Resource Manager

    Job Duties:

    • Foster an environment of trust and integrity that align with the mission, vision, and values of the company
    • Ensure the organization’s compliance with local, state and federal regulations including mandatory trainings
    • Ensure all company HR policies are applied consistently
    • Maintain HR systems and processes
    • Maintain and employee records in accordance with applicable laws and regulations
    • Ensure job descriptions are up to date and compliant with all local, state and federal regulations
    • Work with management to identify and address current and future talent needs
    • Manage the staffing process, including recruiting, interviewing, hiring and onboarding
    • Design and implement employee retention strategies
    • Work together with management to conduct routine performance reviews
    • Tracking any licenses, certifications, trainings, etc that are required by the organization or by law
    • Work with management to develop onboarding training and strategy to ensure employees understand their job responsibilities
    • Stay up to date on state and federal laws that may affect the organization
    • Maintain employee relations
    • Maintain accurate documentation of incidents involving employees
    • Work with management to ensure any disciplinary actions, process, or policy is conducted utilizing best practices
    • Conduct workplace investigations when necessary
    • Work with outside organizations and vendors such as the D.O.L., benefits providers, and more
    • Analyzes trends in compensation and benefits; researches and proposes competitive base and incentive pay programs to ensure the organization attracts and retains top talent
    • Creates learning and development programs and initiatives that provide internal development opportunities for employees
    • Performs other duties as assigned

    Required Skills/ Abilities:

    • Exceptional interpersonal, communications, and relationship building skills
    • Comprehensive understanding of local, state and federal employment law
    • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and payroll software; proficient with Excel
    • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
    • An aptitude for proactive problem solving

    Experience and Education:

    • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
    • A minimum of three years of human resource management experience preferred.
    • A minimum of two years experience with employee relations preferred
    • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP highly desired.
    • Paycom & Gemstone experience preferred

    Physical Requirements:

    • Must be able to use a computer efficiently for extended periods of time
    • Must be able to maintain physical filling system

    Job Type: Full-time

    Pay: From $70,000.00 per year
