  Serve as a critical resource for our small business, where you can be involved in all aspects of Human Resources.
• Collaborate with senior leadership to ensure HR strategies align with NHT's business goals as the sole HR professional
• Act as a guardian of our company culture and values
• Manage payroll processing, company 401k, and healthcare benefits administration and renewals
• Ensure compliance with ACA, 401k regulations, etc.
• Respond to employee questions regarding policies and benefits
• Conduct Worker's compensation audits and filings
• Stay current on HR regulations, laws, and best practices
• Update employee handbook
• Facilitate onboarding, training, employee engagement programs, and performance evaluation processes for new and existing employees
• Collaborate with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase retention
• Administer and manage employee files and driver records per company policies and regulatory requirements
• Leverage technology to standardize and enhance HR processes to foster continuous operational improvement
• Demonstrate sensitivity while working with individuals from a variety of backgrounds, including conservative Anabaptists

NHT Logistics is looking for an HR Manager to oversee all human resources functions, including recruitment, onboarding, payroll processing support, and benefits administration & compliance. We provide safe, reliable refrigerated transportation & cold storage services to companies and brokerages in the Mid-Atlantic region.

Our Ideal HR Manager:

• Experienced: 3-5 years in an HR Generalist or similar role. A Human Resources degree and HR Certification are preferred. Payroll processing and benefits administration experience is required.
• Certifications: SHRM Certified or SMRH Senior CP a plus, or willingness to obtain certifications if needed.
• Computer Savvy: Comprehensive knowledge of Office365 & familiarity with HRIS systems. Paylocity experience is a plus.
• Professional: Desire to take responsibility and ownership over the HR functions. Able to work respectfully with teammates on every level & represent our faith-based, conservative company.
• Relational: Can build & nurture relationships within the company. Someone friendly, people-oriented, and approachable.
• Flexible: Will take the initiative, try new strategies, and build processes as you go. Background as an HR Generalist and willing to take on various responsibilities.
• Detailed & Organized: Strong organizational skills with the ability to maintain accurate and updated employee records.
• Excellent Communication Skills: Can communicate effectively and with compassion in writing and in person. Engage employees & managers to resolve conflicts and provide service by answering questions.
• Analytical: As an expert in human resource laws, you can apply your knowledge to care for our employees and protect the company.
