    General Summary:

    Responsible for effective leadership of assigned stores by providing coaching, training and development that results in an increase in employee retention, production standards, sales and margin to meet strategic goals. 


    Supervisory responsibilities:

    • Partners with the talent team to recruits, interviews, hires, and trains the management roles.
    • Oversees the leadership of store operations. 
    • Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations and learning goals.
    • Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.


    Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

    • Coach and develop store management to utilize optimization to maximize sales per square foot, increase donor value, and sales margin. 
    • Empowers store management to efficiently lead their store operations.
    • Assists in preparing retail budgets and routinely analyzes budgeted expense details to revenue ratios.
    • Analyze sales, donation and production data reporting strategies for continuous improvement.
    • Implements brand initiative ensuring standardization for their region’s adherence to customer and donor experience, with product, merchandising and service expectations. 
    • Facilitates optimization routinely working the process at different locations for insight and process improvement standards. Monitors for consistent practices, provides updates for training documentation, delivers clear communication and follow-up.
    • Champions development identifying the current pipeline of talent at all levels, succession planning, follow up on Leadership Track and Learning Goals progress.
    • Trains new and existing Store Management promoting retention and an internal career path. 
    • Encourages employee engagement to support retention, by ensuring quality training of new hires and compliance of training completions.      
    • Promptly and courteously addresses customer and donor concerns, questions or complaints.  
    • Routinely visits stores to assess best in class service, fresh and full store, GRATIS, safety and the compliance of Goodwill policies and procedures. Providing guidance and delegation strategies for store management ownership of their improvement. • Approve purchase orders, petty cash, and expense reports in accordance with established budget and Goodwill practices. 
    • Assist and support safety management efforts to lower accident incidence rates and insurance costs.
    • Consistently perform all duties within the framework of our Core Values.


    Requirements

    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:

    • Knowledge of retail operations and ability to provide a high level of customer service utilizing a very productive labor model.
    • Must be able to exercise independent judgment and decision-making skills and inspire decision-making by others. Ability to work in fast paced environment. Strong conceptual thinker with pragmatic approach to driving day-to-day operations. Collaborative style and approach.
    • Valid driver’s license, good driving record and proof of insurance
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office.


    Travel Required: Up to 75% travel to assigned Goodwill locations.


    Required education and/or work experience:

    • Post-secondary degree with 5 years retail store management experience and the proven ability to drive sales & margin.
    • 2 years training store management or a multi-unit retail management experience
