Job Summary and Qualifications

What will you do in this role:

• Demonstrates leadership in patient care and operating activities, managing all personnel and services in several multidisciplinary departments
• Provides leadership in establishing superior levels of performance
• Assumes the responsibility for the delivery of safe, competent patient care, professional practice, and customer service.
• Shares information about the hospital, the division, and the departments at least monthly with management staff, actively seeking input to improve customer services.
• Assures annual performance reviews/competencies of department’s staff are completed on schedule
• Monitors safety within the department, assuring all department personnel attend mandatory in-services
• Actively collaborates with the hospital’s staff, physicians, and committees on issues related to the departments, patient care, and customer service
• Develops, monitors and controls the budget for responsible departments
• Develops annual goals for the department and services, leading to budget development
• Efficiently manages in accordance with budget requirements, adjusting activity as necessary to reflect changes in department productivity
• Identifies new markets or services for the hospital, preparing appropriate analysis, summary and objectives reflecting opportunities in improving customer service
• Fosters a work environment conductive to employee growth and development
• Ensures that all licensing and accrediting standards pertaining to the department are met
• Creates a climate, which fosters open communication, innovation, creativity, team building and altruism within the department and hospital
• Provides a role model for quality management
• Actively integrates multi-disciplinary quality improvement initiatives into the department and the organization
• Demonstrates respect for people, management by fact, customer satisfaction and PDCA through quality improvement in daily work
• Communicates in a tactful manner to solve problems and resolve conflict consistent with hospital philosophy
• Handles performance evaluations, counseling, and disciplinary action of staff in consultation with the HR Team Leader and Administration
  
• Evaluates employees’ performance on a timely manner with professional feedback

What qualifications you will need:

• Bachelors Degree in Nursing
• Above average communication skills in all forms
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS obtained within 6 months of hire and maintained throughout employment with Terre Haute Regional Hospital
• TNCC must be obtained within one year of hire and maintained throughout employment with Terre Haute Regional Hospital
• Five (5) years healthcare experience
• Licensure in professional specialty as required by the State of Indiana.
• Registered Nursing License
