Regional Medical Director establishes and implements health care policies and standards, evaluates new treatments, and conducts medical research to ensure the quality of the medical care provided to patients for a specified region. Writes research publications to support clinical service offerings. Being a Regional Medical Director is responsible for strategic clinical relationships with physicians in the region. Oversees the development of the clinical content in marketing materials. Additionally, Regional Medical Director ensures all regional clinical programs are in compliance with laws and regulations. Requires a MD degree. Typically reports to top management. The Regional Medical Director manages a departmental function within a broader corporate function. Summary:
Required:
Bachelor’s Degree in a health-related field or business (i.e., Nursing, Nutrition, Social Work, other Health Profession, or Business Administration), or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience in addition to the experience stated below.
Five years of progressively responsible professional and management experience in a perioperative setting.
Excellent interpersonal skills required along with experience in working with multi-disciplinary groups.
Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
Skill in budgeting, cost analysis, manpower planning, supervision, and operational analysis.
Preferred:
Master’s Degree.
Experience with the operation of health care computer systems.
Physical Requirements: Ability to sit, stand, stoop, bend, and walk intermittently during the day. May sit or stand for extended periods of time. Ability to use computer. Ability to communicate in face-to-face, phone, email, and other communications. Ability to read job-related documents.
