    Job Description:
    We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Medical Surgical (Med Surg) team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional patient care in our dynamic medical-surgical unit. As an integral member of our healthcare team, you will collaborate with physicians, specialists, and other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive care to patients with diverse medical and surgical needs.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Perform comprehensive nursing assessments of patients admitted to the medical-surgical unit.
    • Develop and implement individualized care plans based on assessment findings and in collaboration with the healthcare team.
    • Administer medications, monitor patient responses, and provide patient education on medication regimens and potential side effects.
    • Monitor and assess patients' conditions, including vital signs, laboratory values, and diagnostic test results.
    • Assist physicians and healthcare providers with medical procedures and treatments.
    • Provide emotional support and education to patients and their families regarding their medical conditions, treatment options, and self-care techniques.
    • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care, discharge planning, and transitions of care.
    • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes in accordance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements.
    • Adhere to infection control protocols, safety standards, and best practices to ensure a safe and therapeutic environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
    • Participate in ongoing professional development activities to enhance clinical skills and knowledge in medical-surgical nursing practice.

    Qualifications:

    • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or any compact state.
    • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
    • Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical-surgical nursing.
    • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.
    • Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
    • Commitment to providing compassionate and patient-centered care.
    • Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and computerized charting.
