    Summary of Position

    As the Regional Medical Director, you will provide administrative and clinical leadership and guidance for our physicians and providers at all facilities and report directly to the Chief Medical Officer, ensuring accountability for planning, initiating, and maintaining clinical and quality standards for patient care. This role is critical in maintaining and enhancing our commitment to delivering high-quality care within the evolving healthcare landscape. This role is 50% Administrative and 50% Clinical.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Recommend and initiate approved clinical programs to meet community healthcare needs; guide Administration in developing new patient care services and techniques; conduct evaluation studies of program(s) effectiveness and appropriateness.
    • Screen, recommend, and orient providers; conduct regularly scheduled physicians 'meetings; provide necessary in-service education; evaluate work performance and recommend appropriate personnel actions for physicians; accountable for supervising all medical providers directly.
    • Provide professional liaison with outside facilities to establish relationships to provide patient care and report recommendations to the CMO.
    • Attending Quarterly Quality Assessment and Performance Improvement (Q-QAPI) meetings in person or remotely.
    • Coordinate, maintain, and regularly review the comprehensive QAPI program for the health center as applicable to medical services to ensure relevant policies, protocols, and procedures provide high quality.
    • Establish professional standards for physicians and providers; monitor performance against standards, taking appropriate corrective actions.
    • Coordinate and regularly review risk management program goals and initiatives to ensure a comprehensive approach to reducing the risk of adverse outcomes.
    • Develop and assist in implementing all necessary patient care policies, mid-level practitioners, and triage protocols.
    • In collaboration with QAPI and RM staff, review and investigate all patient complaints regarding the quality of medical services, professional competence, and patient satisfaction per established grievance policies and procedures.
    • Provide patient care services, review patients’ charts, furnish professional guidance and assistance to providers, visit patients as necessary, and serve on rotating on-call schedules.
    • Coordinate and perform medical audits and reviews of cases managed by other providers; serve as backup, participate with, and provide clinical supervision of midlevel practitioners and other providers in diagnosing illness, setting up treatment plans, and handling problems.
    • Maintain an active presence through meetings as appropriate.
    • Participate in administrative meetings designated by the CMO and undertake other administrative duties required to ensure adequate medical administration.
    • Perform other related duties as required.

    Qualifications

    • Doctor of Medicine Degree Required.
    • Board eligibility or certification in a specialty.
    • Valid Medical License will be required (MA, ME, NH, RI)
    • At least five years of progressive leadership experience in healthcare, with a strong background in skilled nursing, assisted living, or a related setting.
    • Proven ability to lead and develop clinical teams, driving positive outcomes and fostering a collaborative environment.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with staff, residents, and families.
    • Strong problem-solving skills, analytical thinking, and attention to detail.
    • Experience in quality improvement initiatives and process optimization.
    • Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and other healthcare technology tools.
    • Willingness to travel within the assigned region to visit SNF/ ALF facilities and support clinical teams.
