Regional Medical Director jobs in Lawton, OK
Regional Medical Director establishes and implements health care policies and standards, evaluates new treatments, and conducts medical research to ensure the quality of the medical care provided to patients for a specified region. Writes research publications to support clinical service offerings. Being a Regional Medical Director is responsible for strategic clinical relationships with physicians in the region. Oversees the development of the clinical content in marketing materials. Additionally, Regional Medical Director ensures all regional clinical programs are in compliance with laws and regulations. Requires a MD degree. Typically reports to top management. The Regional Medical Director manages a departmental function within a broader corporate function. Develops major goals to support broad functional objectives. Approves policies developed within various sub-functions and departments. Comprehensive knowledge of the overall departmental function. SUMMARY OF JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Serves in an advisory capacity to the organization and as a consultant for medically related patient care concerns. Promotes the organizations services within the Medical community. Provides for overall medical direction for the hospice program.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 1. Holds current license to practice medicine in the state of Oklahoma.
- 2. Has at least five years experience in the practice of medicine.
- 3. Is familiar with the philosophical and technical aspects of hospice care.
- 4. Has ability to work as a member of the hospice interdisciplinary team.
- 5. Has excellent communication skills (verbal & written) and experience with conflict resolution.
- 6. Is familiar with principles of quality management and ethical issues in hospice care.
- 7. Expertise in pain and symptom management.
