Oversees the development of the clinical content in marketing materials. Additionally, Regional Medical Director ensures all regional clinical programs are in compliance with laws and regulations. Requires a MD degree. Typically reports to top management. The Regional Medical Director manages a departmental function within a broader corporate function. Develops major goals to support broad functional objectives. Approves policies developed within various sub-functions and departments. Comprehensive knowledge of the overall departmental function.     Job Summary:
    • Responsible for direction of patient care activities.
    • Manages staff in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). Supports and empowers them to embrace the mission, vision, and value statement of the hospital.
    • Provides management of operational and nursing activities.
    • Consults staff, physicians, and Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) on nursing needs and interpretation of facility policies to ensure patient needs are being met.
    • Maintains performance improvement activities with the department and participates in quality improvement activities.
    • Maintains records pertinent to personnel and operations of the department. Prepares reports regarding services, i.e. utilization, performance improvement, outcome data, productivity, including long-term capital budget and short-term operational budget.
    • Maintains a good working relationship both within the department and with other ancillary departments.
    • Performs management activities including interviewing, hiring, evaluating, termination, Nursing Education (ED) Day completion and departmental staffing and scheduling.
    • Develops, justifies, and maintains fiscal budget.
    • Ensures timesheets are accurately completed as required, Kronos/WFR input and monitoring of attendance.

    Skill/Educational Requirements:
    • Unencumbered current Colorado Registered Nurse license.
    • Current BLS certification.
    • Current ACLS certification.
    • Current PALS certification
    • Minimum of 3 years' experience in acute care nursing.
    • Minimum of 1 year experience in supervisory role.
