Role and Responsibilities

Packing/Unpacking Specialist works closely with the Project Manager and older adult clients to implement work that satisfies the client’s goals for a downsizing and moving transition.

These may encompass work to complete a moving plan, aging-in-place plan, sale of goods plan, and/or emptying and cleaning a home to be sold. The tasks are tailored to the clients’ wishes.

Qualifying persons who will be considered are highly skilled in customer service, experienced in working with older adults, have exceptional listening skills, and are proficient at multi-tasking with a quality result.

This is a traveling position with onsite locations in private homes, condos, or apartments and Senior Living Communities within Northestern Ohio. General Laborers are involved in all duties required to complete a client plan as follows:

Duties Include:

• Understanding Space plan schematics.

• Professional packing, unpacking of personal belongings excluding furniture, appliances, and equipment.

• Creating a move-in ready home.

• Collecting and recycling packing materials.

• Preparations for creating online auction catalogs through organizing goods into lots, photographing lots onsite and composing product data for each lot on in-house forms.

• Completing charitable donations.

• Cleaning and removal waste from the home.

• Always Maintaining a clean and safe work area within Senior Communities and private homes.

• Completion of work within estimated hours ( /- 1 hour) subject to excusable delays.

• Always Maintaining confidentiality of client’s privacy rights.

• Adhering to company’s policies and procedures.

• Reporting progress and issues daily to Project Manager.

• Maintaining good working relationships with clients, co-workers and other onsite vendors, i.e. movers, junk haulers, and move-in coordinators.

• Promoting marketing efforts through word of mouth and/or capturing of appropriate photo opportunities for social media.

• Rare office-related duties including printing copies, assembling marketing folders, updating contact lists.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

• Must be educated to a minimum of High School Diploma level with experience in working with children and/or older adults.

• Must participate in all training and most continuing education opportunities specific to industry and title when provided.

• Must have experience in and possess strong customer service skills.

• Must have an Ohio driver’s license and have on-call access to a working vehicle.

• Must be able to bend, squat, lift 30-50 lbs. independently, raise arms above head, maneuver on hand and knees, and climb stairs and/or step stools frequently during course of daily duties.

• Must adhere to all safety guidelines and safety practices.

Pay: $16.00 - $19.00 per hour
