Old Republic Surety Company(ORSC) is currently seeking a Regional Vice President - Commercial Suretyto join itsBusiness DevelopmentTeamintheWest Region, which consists of the following states: WA, OR, CA, NV, AZ, UT, NM, ID, MT, AK, HI.This position could be based out of any metropolitan city within the West Region, with preference given to Los Angeles (Chino), CA, Portland, OR or Phoenix, AZ.

In general, the Regional Vice President - Commercial Suretymanages and directs the commercial surety business within the assigned territory by marketing to promote the companies products and services to achieve branch and company profit growth..

Essential duties for the role are as follows:

• Manage and direct assigned territory to achieve production, underwriting, marketing, growth, and profit goals.
• Supervise direct reports, make recommendations for performance management and disciplinary action. Train subordinates to achieve goals. In addition, contribute to the new employee selection process.
• Engage in effective marketing activity to promote company products and services and maintain profitable business relations with agency plant
• Participate in regular travel of the assigned territory by use of motor vehicle (personal, rental and/or company provided), public transportation and/or airplane. Travel is including, but not limited to, attending agency visits to maintain current business and/or obtain additional business, participating in industry specific events, and meeting with prospective business partners.
• Manage organizational development, administer company policy, and conduct employee relations to keep offices within assigned territory effective and adaptable to external changes in the surety bond market.
• Prepare and meet a production budget each year to ensure ongoing growth and profitability of the company.
• Monitor adherence to company underwriting policies.
• Collaborate with other Regional Directors on the development of account based Surety programs, ensuring consistent messaging is utilized.

This position requires a High School diploma, or equivalent, and a minimum of ten years of progressively successful managerial experience in underwriting, production, and marketing within the fidelity and surety industry, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. In addition, a motor vehicle operator's record that is considered satisfactory as defined by company and corporate standards is required.

This position requires expertise in financial analysis, an ability to analyze large amounts of data to gain relevant information, anddemonstrated superior supervisory and/or project management skills. In addition, this position requires one to lead change and inspire innovation and requires the use of strong interpersonal skills to effectively motivate others.

Working as a Regional Vice President - Commercial Suretyrequires one to work independently and effectively within a fast-paced environment. Proficiency with Microsoft (MS) Windows and Office products is necessary.Other skills necessary include excellent oral and written communication skills, strong organizational and accurate proofreading skills, the ability to maintain accurate records, the ability to exercise discretion with confidential information, strong attention to detail, and the ability to use a variety of office equipment.
