All actions and conduct within the scope of the position must be performed according to performance standards set by Beall’s policies, procedures and Code of Ethics.   INTERACTION: - Reports directly to Loss Prevention Zone Manager - Extensive interaction with law enforcement and court system - Extensive interaction within Loss Prevention and Store Operations - Frequent interaction with customers and store personnel - Some interaction with other individuals within the company SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES: - Read and fully understand all policies and procedures as outlined in the Beall’s Loss Prevention Manual, Policies and Procedures Manual, Code of Ethics, Employee Handbook and all other training or communication distributed by the company - Monitors for indicators of theft, investigates, documents, and reports findings and ensures resolutions per policy and procedure. - Monitors for indicators of internal loss and report any and all circumstances or incidents to Loss Prevention Market Manager with a plan of investigative action for disposition or recommendation of employment - Conduct surveillance in accordance with Beall’s policy and procedures - Assist and respond to specific tasks assigned during an investigation conducted by Corporate Loss Prevention - Review store media for discrepancies and document and report findings - Extensive use of analog and digital video recording equipment in conjunction with company media - Maintain confidentiality concerning all conversations, printed matter, electronic data, phone messages and other Loss Prevention business conducted within the scope of the Loss Prevention Market Specialist position - Complete all reports as assigned or outlined in the Loss Prevention Manual, Quick Reference Guide, current investigative protocol - Accountable for all assigned company property - Monitors for policy compliance and report violations as required by procedure - Enforce company policy by reporting any violation or intent to violate any company policy, local, state or federal law - Appear in court to testify on behalf of the company as required - Perform other duties as assigned by Loss Prevention Market Manager, Loss Prevention Regional Manager, and/or Corporate Loss PHYSICAL DEMANDS: - Must have adequate vision, speech, hearing and physical ability to perform essential job functions, with or without reasonable accommodations - Must have full hand and arm usage to operate equipment, such as CCTV cameras, computer, handcuffs and writing instruments - Must have full body rotation and movement enabling responsive action during apprehensions - Must have ability to climb ladders - Must be able to lift and carry a minimum of 50 pounds with little or no difficulty - Must have excellent written and verbal skills to accurately record incident report details and circumstances - Must be able to stand and sit for extended periods of time - Must have the ability to defend self and apprehend shoplifters - Must have the ability to interview internal and external subjects by either detained or scheduled encounters - Must have the ability to drive between stores within a region   QUALIFICATIONS: - Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent - Must be capable of reading and writing at a 12th grade level or above - Must possess organizational skills - Must possess excellent written and verbal communications skills - Maintain a professional appearance - Must maintain a valid driver’s license in the state of your residence - Must demonstrate sound decision making and judgment and be able to remai n calm in stressful or critical situations - Must attend and successfully complete all on-the-job training/meetings as required - Fluent in English - Basic computer skills - Must be able to work both alone and in team situations - Must be able to work weekends and nights as required - Estimated 50% of time will be travel with frequent overnights, multi-night travel required. - Must be able to make decisions of prosecution and or termination upon conclusion of an investigation - Must be able to maintain minimum 40 hours per week - Some vacation restrictions apply during peak business - Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license in the state of residence - Must successfully complete a background screening that may include verification of employment, personal references, education, certifications, motor vehicle and driving records, and drug screen
